As part of cooperative program between The School of the Art Institute and IIT, I joined a team of students including architecture, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and materials science students to investigate possibilities for generating wind power in the built environment. The team proposed a building site of a public housing project on the South Side of Chicago. The team developed a series of wind tunnel experiments to determine potential for wind power generation at different orientations for two building types: a single family residence and a multistory residential tower.
